Had a great experience with Ruby. From the beginning of our conversation to the end Ruby was professional and friendly.

The team that arrived to pack my goods were on time and efficient.

Thank you to all the team I made contact with for their help. Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or refer them.

Move to U.S.

We were searching for a company who could pack and ship our household items. After researching several companies we came across Relouk. Their quote and time frame suited our needs. Two men arrived at the time agreed on and started wrapping and boxing our furnishings. We are relocating to the U.S. and are having the items sent to a storage garage until we can get there. We highly recommended Relouk to anyone planning on a move anywhere in the world. I would have given a higher rating but 5 was the most we could check. Thanks to Leanne for her professionalism and help with our move. Bob & Carol

Items not shipped and poor communication

I am giving 1 star because the team who came to package everything were excellent and it was all done very well. However, the customer service is beyond poor. My items were meant to be on a shipment on 17 June and weren’t. They have not been able to provide any guidance when my items will ship, despite their emails saying they ship to all destinations regularly.

I would suggest if you need your items in a timely manner, do not use this company

Amazing service!

I really appreciated the fact that due to the team being held up at the first pick up that Leanne arranged a second driver; Kurt. He was so lovely, made me very at ease, and in no time at all had my boxes loaded onto the van.

It is quite a lonely journey packing your life up to move to another country, so the teams humour & kindness has been most welcome. I will definitely be recommending their services!

Moving personal effects from Surrey UK to Washington state USA

Right from the beginning when I was gathering initial quotes were the team at ReloUK helpful. Although we gathered quotes in October 2024, we were not ready to sign up until January 2025. Chantal was very quick to answer questions, help me complete the paperwork and coordinating shipping.

We were kept up to date with weekly/biweekly updates regarding our shipment. It did take a little longer than I thought, however based on cost I think we received value for money.

Hi Bonnie
While we appreciate all nature of feedback, it is important to note that you accepted a service based on Groupage shipment. This is a cheaper option which allows time for us to fill a shipping container. As your shipment was 100th of the space available in the container this was always going to take a certain amount of time. As you rightly state we have continually kept you updated with the status of your shipment which would of loaded on Friday had you not withdrawn payment. I am sorry but I am not sure what else we could have done, as everything we have completed is in line with the quotation you accepted and the advice we provided prior to your acceptance.

Review from down under

Hi

We have recently had some of my late mother-in-law's possessions shipped to us here in Australia. I found the sensitivity and care of the staff exemplary. I am a busy CFO and my husband runs his own business so we are always running to catch our tales!! We kept missing things we were supposed to fill in on the forms (or just not responding at all!!) due to work commitments, but the staff were always patient and professional (and gentle!) in their reminders. I would not hesitate to recommend them in the highest terms.

Not using this company again

From the lack of care in packing to discovering a ridiculous amount of breakage. The UK end managed to not load our table top, set legs, and our 4 Xmas trees to donate to a charity here were 'lost', as folks like to try to blame the other end. The SA end were not at fault, UK take no accountability... admin communication is slow to respond, top notes, lack of support or direction and just disappointed - it will teach me to not go on a nice sales man and the middle price. When they missed 4 boxes, we had to take them to them - even with me offering to pay for them to come get them, they showed me they were the wrong choice, but too late as our stuff was loaded. Expensive mistakes learnt, with me now telling you - sign nothing on arrival till all unpacked and checked, as insurance won't honour a thing.

ReloUK - Worst removal firm I have ever used.

We relocated to Middle East (doesn't provide this option below) and only brought a small amount of items with us. We were told 6-10 weeks delivery but didn't receive items for 4 months. We shipped 18 boxes, 5 were incorrectly labeled and 1 box turned up that didn't belong to us. We returned that box immediately but were left deficient of a box. Because of the incompetence and incorrect labelling by ReloUK the insurance company (they use) would not pay out despite being insured for over £3500. They failed to document an item worth £200 and only offered £40 compensation despite owning up to having removed from my house and "lost". Now 7 months on, I email on a weekly basis to get an update and get no progress at all or offer to compensate for their shambles of a company and organisational skills. Very quick to contact you to get money, as soon as there is an issue they are reluctant to provide any solutions and you have to do all the chasing. It's like they are just not interested.

If I could give a negative or no stars I would. "poor" is too good of a description for this company, avoid at all costs quite literally!

Service cost: £1700

Official company response

Dear Mr Darlow, I am sorry to read your comments and we always actively encourage our customers to share their experiences whether these be good or bad so that as a company we can continually learn and improve our service. Missing or incorrectly delivered items is not a common complaint and, as I believe has been discussed with you, we have documentary proof that all your items departed the UK and that any issue experienced has unfortunately been at the hands of our agent in the UAE who I understand delivered the wrong carton to you. As a company we take service failures by our appointed agents very seriously and necessary steps have been taken with this agent to ensure that no further customer of ReloUK is inconvenienced in this way. All agents and partners in destination countries are stringently vetted and many are used by multiple companies here in the UK as they represent the best option in that particular country based on the governing bodies they are members of and past working relationships nurtured over many years. In reference to any missing items you did take a comprehensive insurance policy, with no excess, and I strongly suggest you pursue this claim with the insurers. Currently I understand that they are questioning the claim as you did not insure the items you are claiming for as missing. Due to this you have not paid a premium to cover the items and thus cannot be paid out under the terms of your contract with the insurers. For reference to anyone reading this review it is absolutely imperative that you list EVERY item you may have the need to claim for with a replacement value just in case the worst should possibly happen. Also as happened in this case it is not possible to claim for an item that was not on your shipping inventory. If it is not recorded by you that you shipped an item you would not be able to claim for it. at ReloUK we have many tried and tested procedures to record all items we collect and ship and at all stages ask our customers to confirm by signature that this is indeed an accurate representation of the items. When claims are assessed all paperwork will be reviewed by the insurers to check the validity of a claim. I am afraid that all insurance companies will enforce the terms and conditions surrounding the policy you have opted to accept but I hope our gesture of allowing you to make a claim on our own liability policy and the payment offered and accepted by you has been well received. This in no way affects any further claim you can make through the insurance policy you have and I can see from our internal records that our office has been (and still is) speaking to the insurers to add our considerable weight behind your claim to ensure it is fairly considered and settlement is made under the Insurers terms and conditions.

International Moving.

I have used ReloUK three times, once to move my personal effects from the UK to Thailand, then to return from Thailand to the UK and then from the UK to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. My belongings were also kept in storage in the UK for a year. For the last two moves I have dealt almost exclusively with Lyn at Pevensey. All moves have involved customs clearance and the use of carriers in Thailand (United Relocations) and in Australia (OSS Worldwide) who have performed without fault. Lyn/ReloUK has proved excellent at arranging and coordinating the transport of my effects. My belongings have always arrived undamaged and in excellent condition. I would not consider using any other shipper should I have to move again.

My belongings have crossed the Atlantic to USA and returned to Europe four times over the years. Now I have just experienced the fifth shipment to USA packed and handled by ReloUK. It reached me in less than two months in a shared container (two weeks delay in delivery from the American port due to Customs etc.) and I received it yesterday. Not recommended.

I have chosen this company to move our belongings from UK to Western Australia as the reviews were very good, however our experience wasn't so good with them. We have been quoted 8-12 weeks for this destination, but it took 16+ weeks, they also provided misleading information when our vessel should arrive and never informed us that our vessel will be unloading our things at Singapore and that another vessel would ship them to Perth WA, so I had to search for information myself and chase them up. If this would be advised I would have never booked their service because our items have been moved too many times and quite a few things arrived damaged.. Some of our furniture wasn't even wrapped properly and was damaged badly, our nearly new condenser dryer wasn't wrapped at all and arrived bent in few places as if it was thrown out of the container like garbage.

Service cost: £1600

Official company response

Unfortunately not a genuine review.
We recognise the customer name but not any of the complaints raised. The customer was contacted by us on email after seeing this review to try and understand why we had never received a complaint and why comments had been made on line that had no reflection on the service we provided. To ensure due diligence was carried out we checked both the paperwork the client is asked to sign when items have been packed at the origin address and also the paperwork client signed at destination once delivery was completed. These show complete client satisfaction with the service provided and NOT the horror story portrayed in this review. We are happy to share this paperwork with any potential customer who having read this review may doubt our service levels.
To date we have not heard back from the customer but would actively encourage them to contact us on info@relouk.com if they have any matters they would like to discuss.

Pay another company a bit extra for more honest and faster service.

Our goods from London (8 boxes and a suitcase) were picked up from London on 16 October 2016 but not delivered but over three months later to Queensland in Australia on 19 January 2017.

During that time I exchanged a large number of emails with the company, including its managing director. His responses were always worded slickly and professionally but I felt that the service was neither honest or transparent.

The key issues were:

- Dishonesty regarding pricing of the boxes. I was initially quoted one price for 40 cubic feet, which included eight of my boxes plus one extra box. These were picked up and checked by Relo UK. It wasn't until another week after when they said that they wouldn't load my shipment unless I paid for the extra box (a suitcase which was smaller than the other boxes). They tried to say that adding the suitcase brought the total volume to 40 cubic feet (the managing director said that he had 'personally checked') but this would have been impossible given that the suitcase was about half the size of each of the boxes.

- Lack of transparency regarding an amount of $125 which they oncharged to me from their Australian contractor (Conroy Removals). This amount had quoted to Relo UK by Conroy Removal before I accepted their quote, but it wasn't until after two months of my goods leaving London that Relo UK surprised me by telling me I had to pay this to the Australian subcontractors, trying to say that they were 'mandatory DAFF (quarantine) charges' and therefore excluded under our contract. In fact, after liaising with Conroy Removals, it was clear that these were not quarantine changes but also included Conroy's own administrative fees. Therefore, I ended up having to pay an extra amount to Conroy on behalf of Relo UK to fulfil its own commercial contractual agreement with Conroy.

For both of these issues I was forced to pay the extra amounts because I did not want to cause any delay to my shipment to Australia.

I would not use Relo UK again - in the future I would use a more reputable company which provided upfront, clear information about the total cost to the customer to avoid any surprise charges.

Service cost: £400

Official company response

Firstly I am sorry if you felt mislead at any time regarding the volume of shipment, but if extra items are shipped, I am afraid charges will occur especially on smaller shipments such as yours. regarding the quarantine charges, no international move provider takes payment at origin for these charges and once again this is stipulated on all the paperwork that you were sent, not only that by your move manager would have told you this as we are a fully transparent service provider and fully understand that the client must be informed of all possible and standard charges, As the Quarantine charge is made by the Australian customs service and is applicable to all shipments. If another company had been used these costs would have also been evoked and payment would have been required

If you have any further questions then please email me directly on stephen.bridge@relouk.com and I will happily address any issues that you may have and discuss them with you.

London to Sydney - Good Price - All Smooth and Successful.

Anthony was very helpful at all times, provide an estimate and answered al our questions. Quote was extremely competitive and truly professional at this price. On moving days the guys arrived on time, very helpful and packed in real quick time (we have previous experience of very slow packing!!), all consolidated onto a container and on its way within 2 weeks, arrived in Sydney at our house 12 weeks later, no damage at all. Great service would recommend and we hav done a lot of global moves!!

For many people choosing a removal company is a big gamble as they only have a sales persons sales pitch and a price on hand in order to make comparisons.
A happy customer all settled in at destination and able to give an account of the service once it has been completed is how we wish to be judged. Thank you for taking the time. Paul - ReloUK.

Worst experience with UK.

I recently moved from London to NY and shipped my household items with ReloUK. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. (1) my items arrived more than two months late with no explanation or apology from ReloUK (2) the total cost ended up being 3x what they initially estimated because of additional fees hidden in the fine print and (3) my furniture had scratches on it when it arrived .

Just don't use this company. You will save money and headache by going to someone else.

Service cost: £1000

Official company response

Dear Olivia,
Thank you for posting your review. At ReloUK we appreciate all nature of reviews and actively encourage everyone we move to share their experience.
I understand that you are in contact with our office in respect of the issues you have raised and they will be able to assist you accordingly.
In response to your comments though I would like to make it clear to anyone reading this review that your cost for the move did increase but this was due to you adding numerous items (mattress, additional cabinets and more boxes) to that which you advised us in writing that you would like to take at the quotation/booking stage. This increase in volume was the reason your cost increased and this was communicated to you at the time and you paid the additional without raising this as an issue. Also at destination we quoted to move your items to a ground floor but you requested the items to a higher floor and were charged accordingly by our US office. To my knowledge this was not an unrealistic fee based on your requirements and the size of your shipment.
In respect of timescales I am afraid that due to the increased volume of your shipment you did not fit into the container we loaded for the US on the 10/7/2018 and had to wait until our next loading date.
I would strongly encourage anyone moving abroad to ensure that they fully read the quotation they receive from us or any other company as this will pay reference to the requirement of a good access at delivery and delivery to a certain floor (as many people moving overseas will not know at the time of quoting the exact address or the access) and also to ensure that they are very specific on what they want to take as costs are calculated on volume and prices will change if the list of items changes at the time of packing - Paul Hunter - ReloUK - The Moving Company.

Sticky fingers, avoid.

You're here reading this review because you put your details into a price comparison website, and you got a bunch of quotes back. The lowest was some company called "Relo UK" that was £100 lower than everyone else. "Wow, that seems like a great deal" you say to yourself. I'm here to tell you: it's not.

Relo UK will demand to repackage all your stuff, and will then fill in your manifest so badly - for example, three entire boxes with generic contents like "computer accessories". When your stuff inevitably goes missing, which it will, their scam insurance company will blame you for not adequately itemizing the manifest that Relo UK filled out for you, and will flat out refuse to pay anything. Your stuff just never existed, and you are a liar.

I lost well over £1,000 of computer gear and expensive electronics, and almost immediately the response from Relo UK was "call the cops, we don't care, LOL". (Paraphrasing.) There's a hole in their shipping chain somewhere, where things just go missing, we don't know how. Couldn't even hazard a guess. But they'll find a way to blame you. Strangely, its never your boxes of old shoes or saucepans that go missing in these types of cases.

The stuff I lost cost well over 1.5x what I paid for the shipping service, and 10x the difference between them and the next cheapest quote I got.

Go with one of those other companies, spend the extra £100 to use a reputable company and save yourself the hassle and don't gamble on losing your most valuable possessions. Don't be greedy and lose thousands trying to save hundreds like I did, trust me.

Oh, and they took 10 weeks instead of the 4-6 weeks they'll quote you. So there's that also.

Service cost: £900

Official company response

Anthony, Thank you for sharing your experience and whilst we welcome constructive feedback I feel compelled to fill in some gaps for anyone reading your "review"
Firstly we do not insist we repack boxes - this is what we quoted you for and this is what you accepted. I am more than happy to send you over a copy of the quotation.
Secondly the issue with itemising was not our inventory. The insurers declined your claim on the basis that you were asked to complete an Insurance Valuation listing all items that you were including in the shipment and that you wanted to insure. You did not list any of the items you eventually claimed were "stolen" which is why the insurers were unable to reimburse you. The insurers are right to expect that if you are transporting valuable items that you would note this on your insurance form and pay the appropriate premium. Whilst you comment that it is strange that only valuable items went missing I would counter that by noting that it is also strange that you insured 50 x books, 6 x suits and 10 x shirts and ties but omitted to insure valuable items that were worth over 1.5 times the cost of your relocation.
We take all claims incredibly seriously but on the basis you signed to accept all items that departed your UK residence arrived in your new residence after ticking them into your new residence and that you disposed of all packaging prior to making a claim for missing items you left the insurers with no alternative as there was insufficient proof that these items existed even though every opportunity was available for you to initially note them on your insurance form prior to your move.
I am sorry that you have been disappointed with our service but I can assure you no-one has dismissed your claim and concerns and for anyone reading reviews such as this I hope they can appreciate that there is indeed two sides to every story and we are happy to share non personal details of your signed paperwork and all correspondence with any concerned party so they can be assured of our position concerning this matter.

Two missing items, no responsibility taken.

The moving company I engaged to relocate my family from Singapore to the UK partnered with Relo UK to get our stuff to us once it arrived at Southampton.

Relo UK were communicative and helpful, and the delivery men were nice and friendly. But as my wife and I got through all of the unpacking, we realised that we had two valuable pieces missing.

Relo UK were adamant that one of the pieces was delivered since one of the drivers remembered where he put it down in our (small) apartment, and straight-up refused to accept that we didn't have it, effectively accusing us of lying.

They agreed that they didn't deliver the other piece, and had no ideas where it was.

We'd taken out insurance, but this wasn't worth the paper it was written on, in the end. The Singapore removals company offered a gesture of goodwill to compensate in part for the lost items (even though they were lost by Relo UK), and Relo UK did nothing apart from deny everything.

Overall, it was a very frustrating experience, and we were ultimately out of pocket and, most importantly, without two items that we wanted to keep. Based on our experience, I wouldn't engage Relo UK again.

Service cost: £1500

Official company response

Hi Veli, I am sorry to read your comments and we always
actively encourage our customers to share their experiences whether these be
good or bad so that as a company we can continually learn and improve our
service. Missing or incorrectly delivered items is not a common complaint and
is very unfortunate in any situation. In this case we were just the receiving
party, at it’s the agent at origin that is responsible to make sure that all
items are labelled correctly and the inventory coincides with the numbered
items. We can only deliver what we receive into our warehouse and at the time
of delivery, it’s the clients responsibility to make sure they have received
all of their items. At the time of delivery you signed to say that you had
checked and received all of your boxes. In regards to your insurance cover this
was arranged for you by the company you employed to move you so we cannot
comment on their response to your claim because as previously mentioned we were
only employed by your chosen moving company to make the delivery to you.

I am sorry that you have been disappointed with our service but I can assure you no-one has dismissed your concerns.

Dismissive and threatening.

My vehicle was stored with them for several months and during this time new mats were swapped by somebody for dirty worn ones (not a huge monetary loss but significant all the same). They were flatly dismissive about it and never produced any before/after photographs which would have clearly shown what had occurred. I can't help but wonder why. The way many of these companies seem to work is that they just automatically pass the buck to someone, anyone else in the event that things like this happen. Their default position was that I would have to take it up with so and so or so and so. Not good enough. In the case of vehicles I'd advise any potential customer to insist on photographs on receipt and dispatch, otherwise you're likely to be faced with this sort of thing too. Luckily some contractors do take photos and send them on, you just have to ensure that your photographic evidence is complete from end to end. The little paper condition reports are literally not worth the paper..In fairness to them the lady I dealt with mostly was very helpful and seemed knowledgeable and efficient, that's not my issue. As this import was from Australia to the UK, ReloUK were not chosen by me, they were merely the receiving agents. Would I personally choose them or recommend their services? Absolutely not. Dismissive, and indeed threatening in the face of having payment for storage withheld in the vain hope they'd accept liability but of course they wouldn't. Photos would have negated the need for the above dispute entirely.Be advised if you get in a dispute like this with them you WILL be dismissed out of hand. All in all a pretty poor experience.

Service cost: £4000

Official company response

Mr Barrowman, Whilst we respect all clients right to review our services I am afraid this does not extend to false claims and to be honest what I deem to be defamatory comments.
To please put the record straight Mr Barrowman imported a car to the UK and once arrived and unloaded asked for it to be stored. On arrival a full condition report was taken noting "stained front mat" This report was sent to Mr Barrowman. Car was then held in storage in a fully secure customs approved warehouse and parked in an area covered by CCTV. At a later point in time Mr Barrowman arranged for his car to be collected by a third party company. We made the car available and the company chosen by Mr Barrowman removed the car from our premises and parked it on a dirt patch outside a farmers gate . . . . pending the arrival of their truck onto which they loaded the vehicle. Once the car was removed from our facilities responsibility passes to the company employed by Mr Barrowman.
Mr Barrowman did not settle his invoice for storage before the car was removed from our depot. When we requested payment a number of times he refused (email on file) at which point we advised that we would look to recoup the funds through the courts. A simple and explanatory, polite email - no threats! Mr Barrowmans reason behind not paying was due to the "stained mat" which we had noted at the time the vehicle arrived with us and as soon as it was unloaded (copy of condition report and email sent to Mr Barrowman held on file). To suggest that we "stole" a stained mat and swapped it for an identical (the car make was written on the mat) even more stained mat is ridiculous. To do this in a secure bonded facility and under CCTV is again ridiculous. I am afraid this whole matter is a situation invented to try and avoid paying for storage. We were not dismissive (all emails are held on file) we purely pointed out to Mr Barrowman that the car arrived with a stained mat and was handed out to the delivery company of his choice in the exact same condition. ALL paperwork, CCTV images confirm this and we welcome Mr Barrowman to please involve the authorities is he feels he has been stolen from. We have nothing to hide and have been subject to a fake and dishonest review. Paul Hunter - ReloUK.

Peace of mind!

From our first contact asking for information to receiving our items in our new home everything went smoothly. Everyone we came into contact with via email or the in-person movers and goods delivery people were great. Nothing was damaged, we were kept in touch with updates regularly and all questions and concerns were handled quickly. The packers and movers in both NYC and London were great, wore PPE and so quick! Thank you all so much.
